Let’s get ready to roll…

Tuesday, October 29, 2024

Let’s get ready to ride! We’ll be taking half a day off to get together and ride bikes for a worthy cause. Get excited because the day is all about FUN! Please note this is an internal Trek event only.

1. Have a hearty breakfast

If you’ve done Trek 100 in the past, you know great food is a big part of this event. Fuel up on pancakes. fresh fruit. granola bars and hot coffee. Let’s keep that tradition going, even if you are riding from home. Starting your day with a great meal will ensure you’ve got enough in the tank when it matters.

Riders that are aware of trail grading should expect blue trails with maybe a couple black sections.

4. Get your bike ready to roll

Trek 100 is all about fun, and your ride’s not gonna be as fun as it could be if you end up facing mechanical problems. The best way to avoid them is to schedule a tune-up beforehand.

5. DOTS Opening hours

All DOTS will be closed on the morning of October 29th, 2024. Reopening at 12:00pm to the public.

Please ensure you have enough time to get back to work to open the store.

We have created a Store Closed/Reopen Sign for each manager to print and display on the store door.

6. Don’t make it your first ride of the year

We highly recommend you spend time in the saddle ahead of October 29th. This will help you get more comfortable on the road, and it’ll also help you discover any issues with your gear. Break in your cycling shoes and bike shorts!

7. Get the right gear now

Having the right gear makes all the difference on a long ride, and there are some essentials you should carry with you no matter how far you’re going. Spend the time now choosing which shoes, bike shorts, gloves, helmet, and jersey you’ll wear for Trek 100 so you don’t have to decide on the morning October 17th. And be sure you have daytime running lights and a flat kit.

8. Share the love

By riding the Trek 100, you’re doing something truly meaningful. The National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation relies on your support to help in the fight to end breast cancer. Tell your social networks what you’re doing by tagging #Trek100ANZ in your photos. Your ride could inspire others to join you in making a difference.

9. Our shout

We are looking forward to celebrating across the country this year. It’s our shout for breakfast and a bevy post ride. Everyone to meet back around 10-10:30am to enjoy a refreshment and share their stories about the ride. We will start a TEAMS group for everyone to post on throughout the day.

If you can’t join us in person, make your ride a true Trek 100 by stocking up on great food (BBQ!) and Beer to enjoy at home when your ride is over (After 5pm of course)

Donate here for our worthy cause.

We will ride bikes on October 29th for the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. In 2023, we raised $5,000 towards this important cause.

WHY DONATE TO RESEARCH?

Because research gets results.

Since the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) was founded in 1994, the death rates from breast cancer in Australia have reduced by 43%, thanks in large part to research in prevention, early detection and new and improved breast cancer treatments.

Although progress is being made, there is still a long way to go.

And NBCF won’t stop until it is solved. By making a donation today, you’ll be funding research to stop deaths from breast cancer.

It’s not every day that you’re able to do something so amazing. Make today that day.
