[Waterloo, WI] — Trek and Bontrager has released a new addition to their high-value, high-performance carbon wheel family today: a wheelset designed for the growing community of gravel and adventure riders.
The all-new Aeolus Pro 3V wheels deliver the same value, proven OCLV Carbon construction and Carbon Care warranty as other road wheels in the Aeolus family, but with a Rapid Drive 108 hub and a wider 25mm internal rim width that better supports higher-volume tyres for a smoother, more confident ride.
The new Aeolus Pro 3V wheels are cut from the same refined stock as the rest of the Aeolus family,’ said Bontrager Wheel Product Manager Graham Wilhelm, ‘but they’re better suited for gravel and the road less travelled. They’re designed for all-road riders who want the benefits of bigger tyres, but don’t want to sacrifice performance to get it.
The extra support from the 25mm internal rim width means you can run higher-volume tyres at lower pressures for increased traction, comfort and stability on all surfaces, and a faster ride in many real-world conditions.
These go-anywhere gravel and adventure wheels are also equipped with a fast-engaging Rapid Drive 108 hub for quick acceleration and a high-performance feel on- or off-road.
Bontrager Aeolus wheels are loved in the road world for their performance and value. They come in at half the price of much of the competition and are backed by Bontrager’s Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty Programme. In the unlikely event that an original owner damages them within the first two years of ownership, Bontrager will repair or replace the wheels for free.
The all-new Aeolus Pro 3V wheels are the perfect complement to any gravel or 700c adventure bike, and they are best paired with tyres 700×28 and larger. They’re available in disc only with 12mm thru-axles for $1699.99 MSRP exclusively through Trek’s global network of retailers.
