The bite-size documentary series available to watch on Red Bull TV from today, takes an intimate look at astonishing athletes who have beaten the odds and made a name for themselves. Incredibly, James has an optimistic view of his two bouts of life-threatening cancer and getting hit by a truck at 70mph, describing it as “one of the best things that has ever happened” to him.

Watch below as he shares his journey so far and how he plans to use that same intense drive, determination and ambition that helped him overcome those experiences to become Britain’s first-ever winner of the prestigious Race Across America – a 12 day race that covers 3,000 miles. A feat that seemed impossible 10 years ago when James was given less than a five per cent chance of surviving emergency cancer surgery.

While COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of 2020’s edition of Race Across America, for James, the adventure is by no means over. He’s is working on creating his own cycling challenges that will keep him fit and focused. The win on RAAM is postponed, not cancelled.
