Riding for Pride Trek to host nationwide event on Sunday, June 27th, donating a total of $75,000 across multiple local LGBTQIA+ organizations
[Waterloo, WI] — Trek is encouraging cyclists of all identities to grab their bikes and ride together to celebrate love, diversity, and the powerful history of the LGBTQIA+ community with the nationwide Trek Pride Ride on Sunday, June 27th.
On the last Sunday in June, bike shops across the country will be celebrating Pride Month by hosting individual Pride Ride events in support of their local communities and will be donating a total of $75,000 across local LGBTQIA+ organizations.
Not only are the Pride Rides a celebration on two wheels, they are also supporting great local causes in over 25 cities, including New York, Chicago, San Diego, and Washington, D.C. Each Trek store that is participating in the 2021 Pride Ride will channel their store’s donations to an LGBTQIA+ organization of their choice within their community. Organizations that stores have already pledged donations to include Stonewall Columbus, Utah Pride Center, and OUTMemphis.
“Bikes are for everyone, and we want to create a community and a sport where all people feel welcomed, supported, and celebrated,” said Eric Bjorling, director of brand at Trek Bicycle. “This event is for everyone who shares a passion for riding and enjoys one of the best things on earth—a bike ride with friends on a beautiful summer day.”
Pre-registration for the 2021 Trek Pride Rides is not required. To participate, click here to view the list of Pride Ride locations, grab a bike, and enjoy cycling while expressing your authentic selves with friends and family. Participating local Trek stores will also provide more information about the ride start time, ride route and start/finish line via a Facebook event on their Facebook pages.
Participating cyclists will also receive an exclusive 2021 Trek Pride Ride t-shirt, featuring the 13 color Pride rainbow flag, while supplies last.
